Swifties have rushed to criticize Travis Kelce’s ex after she refused to say Taylor Swift name as she revealed what she would do if she saw the Kansas City Chiefs’ star in public again, two years on from the end of their relationship.

Kayla Nicole dated the triple Super Bowl champion from 2017-2022, although they had a brief break-up in 2020, but since then things appear to have been eerily frosty between the reporter and the footballer, as well as the rest of the Chiefs’ family.

That’s especially true since the tight end began his relationship with the 34-year-old billionaire popstar in 2023, leading to Nicole to unfollow Brittany Mahomes on social media to try to “protect” herself from online criticism and conspiracies.

However, she didn’t manage to completely stave off the Swifties baying for blood after she described Swift as a “situation” whilst speaking to the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese about what would happen if she saw her ex in public again.

“I’d probably like hit him with a head nod,’ Nicole told Apologetically Angel.

“That’s about it.

We’ve seen each other in public spaces.

“But we are both aware of the nature of his situation that there’s just no room for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly. So we’d just keep it moving.”

Swift fans react

Nicole has been subject to online abuse from the fans of Swift, who have crossed the line at times, leading to very little activity and updates in the way of her life.

She even said she now gives Swift’s new bestie, Brittany, a wide berth despite the pair of them enjoying a close relationship when Nicole was dating Kelce in order to try to stay away from any backlash.

However, due to her decision to not name the Cruel Summer singer directly, she once again found herself subject to the opinion of Swift’s fans.

One user wrote on X.com,  Twitter, “Why is she talking about him? Let’s move on.”

A second opined, “She is embarrassing herself badly.”

A third claimed, “When your ex is in a new serious relationship, there is no room for you anymore.”

And a fourth bemoaned, “What does she mean there’s not room for us to talk WHY WOULD IT BE HES IN A RELATIONSHIP IS SHE DUMB????”
