Travis Kelce isn’t letting a disappointing season dull his love for the game. Even with the Kansas City Chiefs officially out of playoff contention, the veteran tight end says suiting up for the final three games is still a “f-cking blessing.”
Speaking on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason, Kelce admitted it’s unfamiliar territory for a team used to Super Bowl runs, but stressed that playing in the NFL, win or lose, is still an honor, and he plans to give it everything he has.
The season took another major hit after Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL injury, leaving the Chiefs without their star quarterback. While Kelce acknowledged how tough that loss has been on the locker room, he praised the effort of the team and backup QB Gardner Minshew, emphasizing the importance of integrity and showing up for teammates no matter the circumstances.
Kelce’s passionate comments have only fueled retirement speculation, especially as he approaches 36 and faces the final year of his contract. Fans are wondering if this could be his last ride, but for now, Kelce says if there’s a game to play, he’ll be out there loving every minute of it.
