Meghan Markle ‘slammed for nakedness’ by Nigerian First Lady
The First Lady of Nigeria has issued a dig at Meghan Markle following her recent visit to the African country. Senator Oluremi Tinubu criticised people for flaunting “nakedness” during a speech at an event to to mark President Bola Tinubu’s one year in office.
The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry spent three days in Nigeria earlier this month but her fashion choices were noticed by the First Lady. She spoke about how women have made significant contributions to society before commenting on the way some choose to dress.
“The message here is we have to salvage our children,” she told the crowd. The First Lady continued: “We see the way they dress. They keep forgetting that Nigeria, we are beautiful. You can see what they showcase on the stage, I said, ‘We are fashionable, we see what is going on’.
We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed. So we have to do something. Tell them we don’t accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It’s not beautiful at all.
