Coco Gauff Receives Moral Reassurance With a Reality Check About Her Tennis Future – ‘She Serves Harder’
The 2024 Australian Open wasn’t a good one for the American fans. Despite having several players who looked promising to dig deep in the tournament, their run came to a disappointing end. Especially in the women’s section, Coco Gauff was a strong favorite to lift the title. However, she went down fighting against Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. Despite this setback, Gauff has received the backing of tennis legend, Mats Wilander.
Further, he went on to add, “She serves harder, don’t necessarily think she serves better. The forehand will always be a work in progress. With Brad Gilbert there, and now that she mentioned Andy Roddick, I think there is a very healthy situation around Coco.”
It was a spontaneous meeting between Gauff and Roddick late last year. While it wasn’t planned, Gauff received valuable insights from her compatriot. Meanwhile, Roddick was surprised that the news of their practice session broke out because they had kept it under wraps.
What did Roddick say about his session with Gauff?
Although not many knew that Gauff was working with Roddick during the off-season, the American sensation’s coach, Brad Gilbert was aware of it. Subsequently, he broke the news about their partnership and it went viral all over the internet.
