Drake has recently confirmed longstanding rumours of his past romantic involvement with Serena Williams.

The Canadian rapper, known for his hit single “Too Good,” has revealed that the song was inspired by the tennis star.

This revelation comes after Drizzy released a substantial archive of previously unseen content, totalling 100 gigabytes, which includes behind-the-scenes footage from his recording sessions.

In a revealing studio clip from the 100GB BTS release, Drake is seen discussing the song with his mother, Sandi Graham.

When questioned about referencing past relationships in his music, Drake acknowledges, “I get heavy on a couple joints but this is more about me and Serena,” to which Sandi responds with a knowing, “I gathered that!”

The conversation also shed light on the personal nature of his songwriting process, as he explains, “When I make songs about women, I also make songs for them so I know what kind of song to make.”

He further assures his mother that the song’s content would not hurt Williams, saying, “I know Serena very well, and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it because it’s lighthearted.”

The footage not only confirms the inspiration behind “Too Good” but also clarifies the timeline of Drake and Serena Williams’ rumoured relationship.

Drake and Tennis legend Serena Williams, were speculated to be romantically linked from around 2010 to 2015, a period during which Drake frequently attended Williams’ tennis matches and sent flirtatious messages on social media.

One notable tweet from 2011 read, “@SerenaWilliams I cannot wait to put it on you and make you sweat……. during our match this weekend.”

Drake also referenced Williams in his 2013 track “Worst Behavior” and was reportedly spotted kissing her at a restaurant in August 2015.

However, the newly released behind-the-scenes footage indicates that their relationship had deteriorated by the time “Too Good” was recorded, aligning with rumours that Drake was involved with billionaire musician and mogul Rihanna during that period.
