Patrick Mahomes’ father finds another reason to celebrate after regaining sobriety

The Kansas City Chief’s Patrick Mahomes father celebrates one month sober after spending time tied up in legal drama regarding a DWI case in Smith County Court in Texas that almost saw him miss the 2024 Super Bowl game.

Payri Mahomes Sr. fortunately evaded a travel ban by Judge James Meredith and watched his son win at the Allegiant Stadium but now he turns his attention to his daughter by celebrating Zoe’s next big adventure.

First Day of School! 2024-2025,” the 53-year-old Mahomes Sr. captioned  a photo of his daughter to Instagram’s stories feature, as the kid wore her uniform with a silver pom pom and some balloons to celebrate the next step in her life.

The ex-MLB player shares parenting responsibilities of Zoe with his wife, Trisha, meaning Zoe is The Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes‘ half-sister and she shares the athletic talent the family has been blessed with as she enjoys soccer.

Mahomes Sr. was arrested on February 3, 2024, in Tyler, Texas, on a charge of driving while intoxicated (DWI) in what is his third DWI arrest within a span of six years as he continued to battle against alcoholism.

Fortunately for him, he was released on a $10,000 bond before he later pleaded guilty to the offense and received a 10-year-long probation period in order to try to make him clean up just days before Super Bowl LVIII.

Now he celebrates a month sober and continues to try to turn a corner in his life and to earn back the respect of his family, despite them standing by the patriarch through his battles against the drink.
