Angelina Jolie drops legal action against FBI over claims Brad Pitt abused her on a private jet..read more

Angelina Jolie has dropped her two year legal battle against the Department of Justice and the FBI over documents relating to abuse allegations she made against ex Brad Pitt.

Jolie, 49, had been pursuing anonymous court action as ‘Jane Doe’ with the FBI, who investigated an alleged altercation between the duo on a private jet in 2016

She had been seeking documents from the FBI about their investigation into the allegations, filing a Freedom of Information Act request in 2021.

Pitt, 60, was accused of pouring red wine and beer over his ex and one of the couple’s children on a private plane — claims which he denies.
The allegations were investigated by the FBI, but no charges were brought.
Court documents obtained by In Touch show ‘Jane Doe’ has dropped her action and informed the court of her decision on September 25.
Both parties will pay their own legal fees.
The FBI and the LA County Department of Children and Family Services had launched investigations into the alleged incident.
But in November 2016, a FBI spokesperson declared no charges would be brought against Pitt.
Details of the alleged incident first surfaced in August 2022, when a Freedom of Information court filing became public.
Documents state that Pitt had allegedly choked one of their children and struck another in the face.
Jolie had also accused the Fight Club star of grabbing her by the head.
The pair started a romance after co-starring in the 2005 movie Mr And Mrs Smith.
They were married in August 2014 at their house in rural France, but their legal union lasted just 25 months.
Amid the collapse of their marriage, Pitt and Jolie also plunged into a rancorous custody battle over their six children, four of whom are now adults.
They conceived three biological children – Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 – and also adopted Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.
Meanwhile, battle has also been joined over the couple’s French vineyard, Chateau Miraval.
Jolie sold her 50 per cent stake in the Provencal winery in 2023 — a move Pitt says was unlawful.
Earlier this year, the Oscar winner claimed that Pitt had tried to make her sign an $8.5 million non-disclosure agreement to ‘force her silence’ about her abuse allegations against him.
Her legal team insisted that when she sold her half of the Chateau Miraval, she ‘was not acting with malice and the intent to hurt Pitt in response to any custody ruling.’
The documents asserted: ‘Instead, it was Pitt who refused to buy her interest unless he received his newly expanded NDA, enforceable by an $8.5 million holdback specifically designed to force her silence about his abuse and cover-up.’
Her attorneys added: ‘While Pitt advances what is effectively an outdated privacy-of-domestic-violence argument to shield his abuse, his argument is not the law, at least not in this century, and he cites no authority that would give him such unwarranted protections.
In any event, he waived any privacy protections when he sued Jolie.’
Jolie’s team has previously argued Pitt should be made to turn over his personal communications as part of discovery in the winery case.
Pitt has pushed back against the ‘wide-ranging’ and ‘intrusive’ demand, with his lawyers claiming Jolie wanted access to information ‘about such sensitive issues as therapy he voluntarily undertook’ after the plane ride.

However, he maintained that he had been willing to turn over ‘documents sufficient to show everything that occurred on the flight.’

“When Travis Kelce arrived quietly at the private memorial service in Dallas, no one expected the Chiefs’ tight end to turn the somber gathering into a moment that would be remembered forever. ▶️ WATCH THE VIDEO: As Marshawn Kneeland’s father sat in the front row holding a framed photo of his son, his hands trembling, Travis approached — not as a football superstar, but as a teammate, a brother, and a man who understood the weight of loss. Placing one arm gently around Kneeland’s father’s shoulders, Travis spoke softly, his voice steady yet full of emotion: “Marshawn Kneeland wasn’t just a player on our team — he was the soul of it. His energy, his laughter, his fight… they’ll stay with us every time we step on that field.” For a moment, the chapel fell completely silent. Then Travis lowered his head, offering a quiet prayer. His words, unspoken yet deeply felt, carried through the room — a promise that Marshawn’s spirit would live on through the game he loved and the men who played beside him. By the time Travis stepped back, tears filled the eyes of teammates, family, and friends alike. In that small chapel, it wasn’t about football anymore. It was about brotherhood, grief, and the kind of love that refuses to fade — even after the final whistle.”
