Ben Affleck turns to his ex-wife to help him find his next lover as the 52-year-old Academy Award winning actor looks to move on from Jennifer Lopez as they look to finalize their divorce from each other.
The 55-year-old model, singer and actress and the Batman star began dating from 2020 and got married in 2022, but a rocky second half of 2023 combined with an even worse start to 2024 left them on the ropes.
And it seems Lopez finally hit her breaking point as she filed for divorce in August and revealed they had been separated since April as they missed both of their birthdays and their anniversary together.
Now the pair are moving on from their ruined romance and Affleck is doing so by turning to Jennifer Garner, his ex-partner of 11 years and the mother of his children, to sus out who is good for him and who is not.
“He’s ready for something real,” an insider tells RadarOnline.com.
“And he feels like Jennifer is great at cutting through the BS [bulls**t] and sniffing out genuine people.
“[Affleck is] on the hunt for someone grounded and mature.
He’s had enough of the Hollywood divas and gold diggers.”
The insider added, “He’s very clear that he wants a woman who is sober, like him, so they’ll be on the same page when it comes to partying.”
Garner wants Affleck to find someone
Despite their lives being entangled indefinitely as they coparent their three children, Garner is always supportive of Affleck and is reliably his shoulder to turn to when he falls on hard times psychologically.
But now she has a personal motivation to help him as her own relationship with John C. Miller comes under pressure because of how much time she needs to give to help try to lift up the Pearl Harbor star.
“Even though Ben and Jen have been split for a while now,” the source adds.
“He feels a certain level of comfort with her.
She wants to see Ben happy and loves that she’ll get to have a say.
“Because whoever he dates is going to be around her kids.
Ben is very needy, and Jennifer can never say no to him.
“If he’s got a healthy relationship, it’s going to make her life a whole lot easier.”
