Bethenny Frankel Hunkers Down After Travis Kelce Fury
Bethenny Frankel has cut off any more discussion on her Instagram after facing fury for her opinions about Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
The former Real Housewives of New York star is no stranger to sharing her thoughts and facing backlash for them, but it seems she has reached her threshold of criticism.
On Frankel’s latest two Instagram videos, where in both she discusses makeup products she likes using, she has switched off comments, not allowing anyone else to leave a message on either post.
Frankel had faced the ire of hundreds of people for describing Kelce as a “peacock,” comparing him to a caveman and suggesting his relationship with singer Taylor Swift won’t last.
“I don’t know why everyone is up in arms that Travis Kelce was screaming. He has a beard, he is gargantuan, he looks like he goes to work with a car that he starts with his feet, like he lives in Bedrock,” Frankel said, comparing him to the animated characters in The Flinstones. She was referring to the incident during Super Bowl LVIII where Kelce made headlines for shouting at Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid.
She faced a lot of criticism from people in the comments but it did not stop Frankel from doubling down and posting another video the following day.
It just hit me,” the former reality star began her video posted to Instagram. She went on to describe how she had dated a guy similar to Kelce, who was a “big burly charismatic man who needed to be the center of attention.”
“Being in that relationship made me feel like I was driving without breaks. It was just really fun and really electric, but this person just always wanted to party.”
Frankel added: “But when you get into real life and you get into kids and marriage and things like that… it’s not easy [and] relationships take work. And it’s hard, because Taylor Swift is certainly a peacock. So they’re really usually can only be one peacock in a relationship.”
