Rap superstar Drake was rewarded with a huge seven-figure payout after backing the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl and called out Taylor Swift before claiming his winnings.

The acclaimed music artist is renowned for staking huge sums on big sporting events, with UFC a popular backer by him, and Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII was another occasion that saw Drake splash out on a massive bet.

Kansas City Chiefs claimed their second-consecutive Super Bowl title and third in five-years after beating the San Francisco 49ers in a chaotic overtime finale.

Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to NFL’s showpiece title and Drake just one of many punters who cashed in on their record success.

Celebrating after the match, Drake filmed himself celebrating his winnings after watching the action unfolded from a glamorous apartment and revealed he had made a huge profit on Kansas City’s victory.

The rap superstar was rewarded with a seven-figure sum after correctly predicting the Chiefs would win.

Drake claimed £1.86m in winnings as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers

The 37-year-old placed a £910,000 bet on the Chiefs to reign victorious and Mecole Hardman Jnr’s late touchdown placed the A-list celebrity in the money.

Drake won £1.86million as a result and looked to be in the celebratory mood, while Super Bowl winning stars headed out into Las Vegas to celebrate their historic triumph.

NFL fanatic and global popstar Taylor Swift – girlfriend of Kansas City star Travis Kelce – was in Vegas to watch the event and received a shoutout from Drake as he put his cash on the line.

‘I can’t bet against the Swifties [Taylor Swift fans]’, Drake said when explaining why he had picked the Chiefs to beat the 49ers.

It is now the second-consecutive year where the Canadian has correctly guessed the winner of the Super Bowl.

Last year he won just over £500k as Kansas City beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Arizona.
