Duchess Meghan Reveals She Used to Play a Version of This ’90s Dating Show as a Kid

“I was such a little nerd,” the Duchess of Sussex admits to Harper’s Bazaar

As a child, Duchess Meghan wasn’t satisfied with horseshoes or hopscotch.

In her December 2025/January 2026 cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, the Duchess of Sussex embraces her status as a true millennial, by revealing that she used to play a game with her friends that was based off the cult ’90s dating show Studs.

“I was such a little nerd,” she tells features director Kaitlyn Greenidge. “My entire identity was wrapped up in being the smart one. There used to be this show … I’m dating myself, but do you remember Studs?”

The As Ever founder goes on to reveal that she and her peers would pretend they were on the show, and Meghan would typically fill the role of host.

“After school, kids would enact a little makeshift version of Studs to play,” Meghan says. “They were like, ‘Well, Meghan can be the host.’ I had the personality type of ‘I can help coordinate, I can help organize, and I can facilitate.’” She adds: “I think I’m probably the same now.”

Of course, Meghan is no stranger to the game-show world, having been a regular on Deal or No Deal from 2006 to 2007, where she served as a briefcase holder across 34 different episodes. Eventually, she moved on to bigger things when she landed her breakout role on the legal drama Suits.

With her and Prince Harry’s recent Netflix deal, Meghan has returned to the TV world, launching her lifestyle reality series, With Love, Meghan, this past March, with a holiday special set to air on December 3. (She is also joining the cast of Close Personal Friends.)

As for whether she might host a dating show? Well, we’ll probably have to hold out for that one.
