Thierry Henry says Chiefs will win Superbowl LVIII
Micah Richards wants ‘Hollywood ending’ for Swift & Kelce
Look ahead at NFL Championship game
WHAT HAPPENED?
Speaking to TalkSport, Henry admitted that he is fascinated by the ‘greatness’ of Mahomes, and that he’s backing him to claim another ring this Super Bowl. On-air host and ex-Man City player, Richards had a different angle for this year’s NFL Championship game: love in the air.
Richards claimed he is only there for ‘the showbiz’, laughably admitting he’s keeping an eye on the ongoing love story between Chiefs star tight-end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift.
WHAT HENRY SAID
“With the Chiefs having Mahomes, it’s difficult to bet against the guy. He is just something else. Having lost the final against Brady, I know that’s something that must be annoying him. So the only way he can go and surpass Brady is having rings, and greatness is about having rings.
“I’m sure in his head he’s thinking about the loss against the Buccaneers and the only way to grab the big man is to win more and more and more, and do it well. We know how great he is, so I will go with Mahomes.”
WHAT RICHARDS SAID
Speaking on the fascinating love story between the duo, Richards said: “I think it’s written, the whole Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift thing, Patrick Mahomes – we’re not far from Hollywood and it’s going to be a Hollywood ending.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Superbowl LVIII will pit the Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers, dubbed ‘underdogs’ by Henry. Brock Purdy and co. are looking to earn their first ring since 1995. The two teams also faced off in the 2020 Superbowl game, but the Chiefs bested the 49ers 31-20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Sunday’s game will determine the 2023/24 champion of the league, while also determining if Swift and Kelce truly do get their ‘Hollywood ending.’
WHAT NEXT FOR THE SUPER BOWL?
Sunday’s epic clash of titans kicks off at 6:30 pm ET, but the real question that needs to be asked is: Are you going to watch the game and root for the ‘Hollywood ending’ or are you there for the brilliant commercials in between breaks? Or, is the halftime show featuring R&B legend Usher the draw?
Regardless, Sunday’s game will pit many storylines together, with fans from all around the world watching.
