Kiwi Swifties left gutted Taylor Swift is not performing in New Zealand

Kiwi Swifties have been left heartbroken Taylor Swift has decided not to take her Eras Tour to New Zealand.

Several fans have said they are experiencing ‘mega FOMO’ as the star performs across Australia and remain hopeful she will swing by their country to at least enjoy the picturesque countryside.

Wellington local Tessa Paddy told news.com.au: ‘I was full expecting we’d be on the list when she started releasing all the tour dates.

‘When it got to Australia and this region, to be honest I initially thought she’s just sorting some things out and will make the announcement about Auckland and Wellington … but it never came’.

The super fan tried to secure tickets to the Melbourne and Sydney shows, but said it was too expensive.

Fellow Kiwi Swiftie Chaz managed to score a ticket to a Sydney show, but it came at a cost of $3,000 for tickets, accommodation, food and $700 on outfits.

Fans suggested Swift left the country out because it does not have a big enough stadium.

‘NZ doesn’t have a venue big enough is probably the main issue here, both for the size of the Eras Tour production and also the demand,’ a Facebook user wrote.

Andrew Waddel from Tourism New Zealand debunked this idea telling news.com.au: ‘Aotearoa (NZ) has a great reputation for hosting world-class events. Last year, we co-hosted the FIFA Women’s World Cup, welcoming thousands of manuhiri (visitors) across the North Island and South Island’.

Several stadiums across New Zealand can host superstars like Taylor Swift. Eden Park Stadium in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is a great example’.

The singer last performed in New Zealand in 2018, performing one show of her Reputation tour.

Swift performed three sell-out concerts in Melbourne last weekend to crowds of 96,000.

Her Sydney shows have attracted 80,000 fans per night in addition to A-list guests which have included Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Rebel Wilson and Toni Colette.
