Meghan Markle’s Kate Middleton dilemma means she will never return to UK – expert…read more
Meghan Markle has “no chance” of returning to the UK – and it’s all down to her dilemma concerning the Princess of Wales, according to an expert.
In the past year, Prince Harry has returned to his homeland several times, including earlier this week to attend the poignant WellChild Awards.
However, in his most recent visits, he has travelled alone without his wife – and has previously talked about security concerns he has for Meghan and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet when in the country.
This means the last time Meghan was in Britain was over two years ago when the late Queen died in September 2022.
However, one royal biographer once suggested a prospect that would come in the future may also be put off Meghan from travelling to the UK.
Andrew Morton, who wrote his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story with her guidance, has said that he does not believe that the Sussexes would ever return to Britain from the US and that they now have their own lives to live.
Appearing on Sky News’ Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips in 2023, he was quizzed on the prospect of their UK comeback.
He responded: “What, and have Meghan Markle curtsying to Kate Middleton? I don’t think so. I don’t see that as a runner.
They’ve got their own lives in California.” Royal Highnesses bow and curtsy only to majesties, so Meghan would only have to do so to Kate once the princess becomes Queen.
Several years ago, Meghan once declared that she and Harry were like “salt and pepper”, insisting, “we always move together” – but it has not been the case in recent weeks.
Firstly, Harry appeared at a charity event organised by Hollywood star Kevin Costner alone with Meghan reportedly sick.
Hot on the heels of that, Harry then headed to New York solo for a string appearances including speaking at a summit organised by the Clinton Foundation and appearing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Earlier this week, he made a fleeting trip to the UK alone to attend the WellChild Awards and has now headed to Southern Africa for a series of visits in Lesotho and South Africa.
It has led many to wonder why Harry has been on his travels without his wife – even though the pair headed to Colombia together in August.
One PR expert believes there is a strategic reason why Meghan appears to be ‘missing’, especially from Harry’s royal-style outings.
Mark Borkowski told The Telegraph that the Sussexes’ “separation of work” has been ongoing for a while now, especially as Meghan works on her new American Riviera Orchard brand.
