The 2024 Met Gala took place on Monday evening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City – and the dazzling evening was filled with a slew of controversial outfits that divided the internet, a shocking pregnancy debut, and a very-surprising transformation.

Dubbed by some as the biggest night in fashion, every year on the first Monday of May, a series of A-listers gather in their most extravagant looks for a lavish party hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The guest list did not disappoint this year, with celebrities like Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, Lauren Sanchez, and Jennifer Lopez, among others, all gracing the red carpet at the star-studded event.

The theme was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and the party had a Garden of Time dress code; and while some stars blew everyone away with their dazzling ensembles, others completely missed the mark and suffered from horrific sartorial fails.

One of the most notable looks of the night was Zendaya’s – who was co-chair of the event with Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez.

She sparked a debate online after she showed up in a custom Maison Margiela by John Galliano dress that had a bunch of grapes hanging off of it, an enormous ruffle on one shoulder, and a fake bird draped around her neck.

While some loved it, others branded the look as ‘disappointing’ and compared it to something Disney villain Cruella De Vil would wear, while one person even joked that it gave off ‘Alice in Wonderland vibes.’

There were certainly no shortage of adventurous ensembles. Kim’s outfit was another one of the most talked-about looks of the night – as she arrived in an astonishingly small silver corset.

It sparked fierce concern over her tiny waist – with one person asking online, ‘How many ribs did she get removed?’

Another shocking moment from the coveted ball was when Sydney Sweeney showed up rocking a completely new look – dying her normally blonde locks dark brown for the event.

In addition, many stars bared it all in daring and nearly-nude ensembles – including Doja Cat, who walked the carpet in a soaked white dress that was practically see-through and Emily Ratajkowski, who attended in a sheer gown that left her nipples on full display.

And while a slew of stars graced the red carpet at the event, many people were devastated that one particular famous face did not: Taylor Swift.
