Fans are praying for Gracie Hunt following a heartbreaking family announcement.

Gracie, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, is in mourning because her grandmother, Chiefs matriarch Norma Hunt, has passed away. The team announced as much on Sunday night, with Norma passing at the age of 85.

The widow of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, Norma was the only woman who attended every Super Bowl in NFL history and was very involved with the team and its fans, as well as FC Dallas, the MLS franchise also owned by the Hunts.

Heartbreaking news from the Chiefs organization. Thoughts & prayers ?

“Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, Norma. She was a wonderful mother and an extraordinary woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew her,” the family announced.

Gracie took to Instagram to share a tribute of her own, posting several snaps of the two together, including photos from her infant years.

“My Mimi Norma was an absolute legend,” she wrote. “The only woman to see all 58 Super Bowls. With a precious Texas accent, she was humble, beautiful, brilliant, hilarious, joyful, fun and fierce. She was an eternal optimist, the best cheerleader and so much more. She was extraordinary.”

Support has been pouring in, and you can see some of the comments resulting from the post right below:

“What a legacy! She was a P31 (Proverbs 31), how precious. She is walking streets of gold.”

“So sorry for your loss, Gracie sending love to you & your family.”

“Love this so much!!! She will always be remembered – such an amazing woman & life.”

“Praying for your family during this tough time.”

“Sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mimi. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”

“So sorry Gracie, sending prayers for you and your family.”

Norma watched the Chiefs lift the Lombardi Trophy in February after beating the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 57. It marked the third championship win of her lifetime.

“When Travis Kelce arrived quietly at the private memorial service in Dallas, no one expected the Chiefs’ tight end to turn the somber gathering into a moment that would be remembered forever. ▶️ WATCH THE VIDEO: As Marshawn Kneeland’s father sat in the front row holding a framed photo of his son, his hands trembling, Travis approached — not as a football superstar, but as a teammate, a brother, and a man who understood the weight of loss. Placing one arm gently around Kneeland’s father’s shoulders, Travis spoke softly, his voice steady yet full of emotion: “Marshawn Kneeland wasn’t just a player on our team — he was the soul of it. His energy, his laughter, his fight… they’ll stay with us every time we step on that field.” For a moment, the chapel fell completely silent. Then Travis lowered his head, offering a quiet prayer. His words, unspoken yet deeply felt, carried through the room — a promise that Marshawn’s spirit would live on through the game he loved and the men who played beside him. By the time Travis stepped back, tears filled the eyes of teammates, family, and friends alike. In that small chapel, it wasn’t about football anymore. It was about brotherhood, grief, and the kind of love that refuses to fade — even after the final whistle.”
