NFL’s Jason and Kylie Kelce’s classic kitchen cabinet color will never fall out of style, designers assure

As the most practical and social area of the home, no color choice is quite as impactful as that in the kitchen. Naturally, we want this space to stand the test of time – and one hue has the power to futureproof quite unlike any other.

White kitchens, though safe, are often prioritized among designers when asked which paint will transcend color trends, and following suit will leave us in good company. Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie have designed an all-white kitchen in their Haverford home, and it’s a reminder of just how versatile this hue can be.

Despite the undeniable appeal behind earthy kitchen cabinet colors and moodier trends, interior designer Stefana Silber assures us that white kitchens, like Jason and Kelce’s, are an eternally safe choice.

For most people, a kitchen remodel could be something they do only once in a lifetime. They’re not looking to make decisions based on what the latest trend is. Rather, they want the type of design that is classic and will remain in style in five, ten, or more years,’ Stefana explains. ‘There’s nothing worse than picking a finish that’s bold and trendy so that you can get tired of it in two years and be forced to live with it for decades.’

Perhaps the biggest appeal behind this hue is its ability to serve as a blank canvas. In the Kelce kitchen, they have paired their cabinets with a dramatic veined marble island that makes a statement in the otherwise neutral space. However, as Stefana explains, with this color, we can do no wrong.

‘This tone fits in various design styles and provides a blank canvas to decorate around. In an open floor plan setting, it takes away the worry of having to coordinate furnishings and finishings with it. The choices of flooring or seating are endless,’ she says.
