Election years tend to descend into chaos, pitting two sides against each other.

Well-known celebrities and athletes need to tread carefully with their declarations at times, as just one comment or action can be divisive.

We’ve seen it happen plenty of times, and one of the most recent “incidents” came courtesy of Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

Brittany liked a post made by Donald Trump on Instagram a couple of weeks ago, sparking outrage from left-leaning fans.

Unsurprisingly, Trump caught wind of the situation, and he’s now come out to praise her.

I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country… it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM.

This “gift” from Trump, a heaping of praise, should make Mahomes happy.

But it’s a stretch to say that she “strongly” defended Trump.

All she did was like a couple of posts on social media.

She hasn’t made any public statements about the election, and neither has Patrick.

Patrick has actually been quoted as saying he doesn’t want to “pressure anyone to vote for a certain president”.

This isn’t the first time the NFL has found itself in a political quagmire.
