Prince William’s vision for the future may be threatened by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal expert has warned.

In a candid interview, the Prince of Wales shared his vision of a modern monarchy, focusing on empathetic leadership and supporting people.

The interview came as his father King Charles attended the premiere of Gladiator II, where he appeared alone due to Queen Camilla’s ongoing recovery from a chest infection.

Royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop has said William’s comments and the King’s appearance at the event highlight the significant changes within the royal family.

She said, “He was up against Gladiatorial men, (squaring up to Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal is no mean feat) but the King looked inescapably alone on the red carpet in Leicester Square last night.

There was no retro glamor, no tinsel, no tiaras.”

She continued, “Even Camilla (still battling a nasty chest infection), was missing.

To compensate, I longed for the King to wear an ermine gown, or pop a crown on his head.

Instead, he dutifully made his way down the line of stellar names.”

Speaking to The Mirror, Dunlop also pointed to Kate Middleton’s appearance at the Remembrance Sunday event over the weekend.

It was her first major royal appearance since completing her cancer treatment and the royal expert suggested it was “a painful reminder of what we are missing.”

She then commented on William’s recent homelessness documentary and gave a stern warning.

“This is definitely William’s happy space – Earthshot speeches and homeless documentaries are his version of royalty with a small ‘r’. But royalty needs to be careful.

The public will tolerate a bit of charitable hectoring but only if accompanied with a large dollop of fairytale glamor,” the expert said.

With the potential for a glamor vacuum to form according to Tessa, there are two people who she says could easily fill it.

She added, “The Royal Family might think they are above such glitzy gimmicks.

That would be a mistake.

After all, waiting in the wings are ex-royals the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Dunlop described Harry and Meghan as “instinctively glamorous with bundles of razzmatazz.”

With Harry and Meghan estranged from the royal family, Dunlop suggested William should “beware” as she said it “would never do for the Royal brand to be upstaged.”
