Princess Beatrice Had the Best Reactions at Wimbledon

The royal could barely contain her excitement.

Princess Beatrice might be a working royal, but she still finds time for the simpler things like the occasional sporting match. The princess did exactly that on day 9 of Wimbledon, where she was joined by her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, to see a riveting game of tennis.

Beatrice attended the event in a multi-colored floral printed shirt dress by Monique Lhuillier that she wore with Broche Vivier buckle crochet clutch in raffia by Roger Vivier. Mozzi, meanwhile, kept things classy in a tan colored suit worn with a light blue collared shirt and burgundy tie.

During the event, which took place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, the Princess of York could hardly contain her excitement—at various points during the game, her face lit up into a bright smile as she excitedly cheered and clapped for a job well done. For the more serious moments of the match, Beatrice kept her lips pursed and watched the game with intent so she didn’t miss a single moment.

Beatrice isn’t the only royal who enjoys taking in the famed tennis tournament. Kate Middleton, who is the patron of the All England Club, loves attending the sporting event, however, the princess’s attendance at this year’s games is still up in the air amid her cancer treatment. Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, though, were seen at a few matches on July 4. Like Beatrice, Carole opted for a floral dress that she topped with a cream colored blazer, while Michael wore a navy blue blazer and matching slacks.

Although Kate’s appearance at the tournament isn’t guaranteed, she does hope to be in the stands this year. “It is no secret that she would dearly love to be there, but when you are having chemo, as she herself said, there are good days and bad days,” a source close to Kate told The Daily Beast. “A lot depends on the timing of the treatments. She made it to Trooping the Colour, so if she can make Wimbledon, she will.”
