Super Bowl 2024: Donna Kelce taking ‘a step back’ from media duties for Chiefs vs. 49ers and instead plans to enjoy ‘shows, plays and music’ in Las Vegas before son Travis plays Sunday

onna Kelce plans to make the most of Super Bowl week for herself in Las Vegas, after dominating the media build-up last year with her two sons playing against each other.

This time, it is just Travis who is taking to the field at Allegiant Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs against San Francisco 49ers – with Donna set to be joined by her eldest son Jason in cheering him on the for the game.

Talking to People while she gears up for Sunday’s game, Donna said: ‘This year I’m going to take a step back to enjoy it. I get to enjoy it this time.’

She added her plan ‘is to just enjoy some of the fun of Vegas – some of the shows, some of the different plays and music’, adding that she might not arrive until Thursday.

Last year, Donna wore a 50-50 jersey mixed with red and green to support both of her sons as the Chiefs played the Eagles – with Kansas City emerging victorious

She was filmed consoling son Jason on the field before then finding Travis among the crowd to celebrate in emotional scenes for the family.

Of course, this year there is arguably more attention on them than ever before given Travis is dating Taylor Swift.

The singer is expected to race back from Japan for the game, where this week she has four nights scheduled in Tokyo for her massively successful Eras Tour.

Speaking on Monday night in Vegas, Chiefs tight end Kelce was coy over whether the singer would make it back and joked he didn’t know if she had room for her private jet.

“When Travis Kelce arrived quietly at the private memorial service in Dallas, no one expected the Chiefs’ tight end to turn the somber gathering into a moment that would be remembered forever. ▶️ WATCH THE VIDEO: As Marshawn Kneeland’s father sat in the front row holding a framed photo of his son, his hands trembling, Travis approached — not as a football superstar, but as a teammate, a brother, and a man who understood the weight of loss. Placing one arm gently around Kneeland’s father’s shoulders, Travis spoke softly, his voice steady yet full of emotion: “Marshawn Kneeland wasn’t just a player on our team — he was the soul of it. His energy, his laughter, his fight… they’ll stay with us every time we step on that field.” For a moment, the chapel fell completely silent. Then Travis lowered his head, offering a quiet prayer. His words, unspoken yet deeply felt, carried through the room — a promise that Marshawn’s spirit would live on through the game he loved and the men who played beside him. By the time Travis stepped back, tears filled the eyes of teammates, family, and friends alike. In that small chapel, it wasn’t about football anymore. It was about brotherhood, grief, and the kind of love that refuses to fade — even after the final whistle.”
