Taylor Swift gets apology from Billboard over Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ fiasco……see more

Taylor Swift recently received a formal apology by Billboard for including a controversial clip from Kanye West’s Famous song.

It all started when the Love Story hitmaker landed on the second position for Billboard’s Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century.

The clip used in the publication’s tribute featured footage from West’s 2016 music video, in which Swift’s n***d wax statue is shown next to his own and others.

Now, Billboard in a response of immense backlash received on social media removed the video from the platforms and issued a formal apology to the 34-year-old pop star.

The publication in a tweet on X (formally knowns as Twitter) wrote, “We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her.”

“We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error.”

Swift, on other hand, is yet to comment on the public apology.

Moreover, Billboard’s apology to the singer comes a day after the publication labelled her one of the biggest pop stars.

Earlier on Wednesday, the publication shared a tribute video for the Cruel Summer crooner on its social media handles with the caption, “@taylorswift takes the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century. (silver medal emoji).”
