Taylor Swift Performs Medley of ‘Getaway Car,’ ‘August’ and ‘The Other Side of the Door’ at 2nd Melbourne Show
I really just want you to be happy, ’cause you’re making me really happy,” Swift told fans at Saturday’s Eras Tour gig in Australia.
Taylor Swift was full of surprises in Melbourne!
During the pop superstar’s second consecutive Eras Tour gig in the Australian city on Saturday, she treated fans to a rare performance of three Swiftie-beloved tracks blended into one when she pulled out her guitar for a medley of “Getaway Car,” “August” and “The Other Side of the Door.”
Throughout the Eras Tour, the 34-year-old musician has sprinkled in a surprise portion of songs for each setlist — which oftentimes consists of two songs she doesn’t usually play on tour.
But on Saturday, during her second show in the city, Swift’s surprise portion kicked off with a mash-up of the three fan favorites off her albums Reputation, Folklore and Fearless.
“I just really want you to be happy because you’re making me happy,” Swift told fans before the song, per a fan-recorded clip. “So I figured you might want to hear this one, let me know though.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Surprise Songs: The List So Far
As she sang mid-show, with an acoustic guitar in hand and wearing a red dress, Swift opened with “Getaway Car,” joking with fans that she realized she had “chosen correctly” with her secret track.
About halfway through, Swift launched into the chorus of her Folklore standout “august,” prompting even more screams from the unsuspecting crowd, before again throwing them a curveball with “The Other Side of the Door.”
The remainder of Swift’s surprise set also included a performance of “This is Me Trying” on piano, another track fans aren’t used to hearing on the setlist.
Just a day before, during Swift’s Friday gig in Melbourne, the Tortured Poets Department singer debuted her fan-favorite Midnights ballad “You’re Losing Me.” Swift described the song as “one of my favorites” before sitting down at the piano for the moving rendition.
The pop superstar’s show at the Melbourne stadium also marked her biggest audience to date, as it was her first time performing in front of 96,000 fans — a fact she acknowledged during Friday’s performance.
This is the biggest show that we have done on this tour or any tour I have ever done,” she said to the audience in a clip shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“That’s the version you get of me tonight, the version that’s completely starstruck by the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on a Friday night in Melbourne,” Swift added.
