Super Bowl LVIII will see Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Sunday
From Kelce and Swift to food consumed and touchdown statistics, Mail Sport gives you a definitive guide
Get your snacks ready, prepare your TV set-up and strap yourselves in – Super Bowl LVIII is nearly upon us as fans across the world await one of the biggest sporting events on planet Earth.

On Sunday evening at 3:30pm PST in Las Vegas – and 11:30pm in the UK – the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers in a bid for glory amid a spectacle that is rarely rivalled anywhere else in sport.

More eyes are expected to be placed on this Super Bowl than most recent editions thanks to the power of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift – whose romance has brought a legion of new fans to the sport as hordes of ‘Swifties’ adopt the Chiefs as their own team in support of the pop star sensation and her boyfriend – the renowned tight end and one of the best players in NFL history.

Recent research has outlined the incredible impact that Swift and her fiercely loyal fanbase have had on the sport and, with it, a much bigger viewership for this weekend’s Super Bowl. When the Chiefs took on the New York Jets in October – the first game since Kelce and Swift first began dating – viewing figures were reported at 29 million.

In the UK, a poll showed that nearly 13 million Brits will tune into the Super Bowl – with half of Swift’s fanbase in the country set to watch Kelce and Co in action.

But the 34-year-old won’t be the only famous person in attendance. R&B singer Usher is set to perform the iconic half-time show – though he won’t be paid for doing so, as is protocol for the entertainer picked to perform at the chosen venue. Instead he’ll use the huge viewership for the event to promote his new music.

Elsewhere, celebrities who could make an appearance include Chiefs fans such as actors Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Brad Pitt and Henry Winkler. Meanwhile, the 49ers also boast some esteemed company among their fanbase, such as rapper Lil Jon, actor Andy Samburg.

Quite simply, this is not an event to be missed. Last year’s event had 115.1 million viewers to sum up a showpiece that brings people together across the whole of America. It’s no surprise that advertisers pay the big bucks given all the eyes on it. Last year Amazon paid $26m for a 120-second advert showcasing its Alexa device.

Below, Mail Sport has provided an in-depth graphic that gives you everything you need to now about Sunday’s event, including head-to-head statistics for both teams, which famous fans they have, who the key players are on either side, plus a breakdown of the key stats
